What is the HBCU Internship? 

The ‘me too.’ HBCU Internship, is a 4-month virtual internship program that will support two burgeoning survivor-leaders who want to contribute to the work of disrupting sexual violence. Interns will work directly with the ‘me too.’ Programs team to build out the Fall 2022 HBCU student workshops and support the growing movement of survivor justice on HBCU campuses.

Interns will work 5-7 hours per week and report directly to the Program Coordinator.

Who should apply?

HBCU undergraduate student leaders from the AUC are invited to apply for the internship. Applicants with previous campus leadership experience, project management experience, and those with experience organizing around issues of  sexual violence are strongly encouraged to apply. Queer, low-income, trans, gender non-conforming, disabled, immigrant, and first-generation peoples are encouraged to apply. 

What will interns gain as a result of their experience?

The Internship will include skill development training in supporting survivors on a college campus; organizing 101, and understanding the intersection of sexual violence and racial justice. Interns will act as thought leaders toward the design and implementation of ‘me too.’s HBCU initiatives. In addition, interns will  learn how to advance survivor justice through a non-profit structure. 

Compensation: Interns will receive a $1,700 stipend.

When does the internship take place?

September 2022 – December 2022, 5-7/week
